The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation in Bowery, NY
The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation
One way to experience the art of Abstract Expressionism is through The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated solely for this purpose. With world renowned paintings by these two great artists.
The Foundation presents art exhibitions, lectures and programs in Resnick’s former home. The synagogue in the Bowery NY area was renovated by Ryall Sheridan Architects to make way for his signature paintings that are on display upstairs where he once worked from the 1970s until 1990's
The organization has preserved this space as an iconic landmark with gorgeous pieces of work displayed throughout.
The Foundation is thrilled to announce that its new headquarters will be located at 87 Eldridge Street in the lower east side of Manhattan. The building was previously home to cinema legend Milton Resnick, and now you can visit this historic landmark for yourself.
The synagogue's second floor is where you'll find the former main sanctuary, which has been transformed into something spectacular. As of now, there are plans to keep this part mostly intact with rotating shows and lectures hosted throughout Resnick’s work-in-progress installation done in 1970s - 1990s on display for visitors' enjoyment while they learn more about him as well.
A new mezzanine floor has been added to the sanctuary, and it overlooks a small studio with works by Resnick as well. This is where his large-scale paintings used to be before he became unable due illness; now these pieces live on in this space that's just for them.
